About
Efforts in K-12 schools across the US are focused on helping students with their mental health using the MultiTiered System of Supports (MTSS). This approach is used in all fifty states but faces challenges due to its complexity and the gap between policymakers and those working directly with students. To bridge these gaps, a solution is proposed by combining Five Guiding Principles, Evolutionary Systems Improvement, and BioPsychoSocioTechnical Systems Theory. These elements have already shown improvements in mental health systems by moving beyond basic rule-following methods, providing a solution to enhance student well-being.
