This study examines factors influencing pediatric nurse practitioners' (PNPs) likelihood to report to work during disasters. A national survey analyzed demographics, preparedness plans, training, and experience to determine responders' profiles. Results show male PNPs, military background, disaster training, and having a designated role in the workplace plan increase response probability. PNPs with assigned roles are three times more likely to respond. The study underscores PNPs' valuable skill set for caring for children during disasters, urging disaster planners to incorporate them into response strategies to enhance pediatric care in emergency situations.
