This article describes the emergency child psychiatric care set up after the terrorist attack in Nice, France, on July 14, 2016. It highlights how two child psychiatry teams were quickly organized to help children and families affected by the trauma. Within the first two days, they assisted at least 163 people, including 99 children and 64 adults. The focus is on sharing experiences of handling such emergencies to improve future responses in similar situations involving mass trauma affecting children and families.
