About
This article discusses the development and implementation of a standardized pediatric disaster medicine (PDM) curriculum aimed at pediatric and emergency medicine residents. The study evaluates the course's efficacy, residents' attitudes toward disaster medicine, and their experiences treating disaster victims. Results show a significant improvement in residents' knowledge immediately after the course, with retention of information over time. Most residents recognize PDM's importance in their training and express interest in practical disaster-training exercises over didactic training. This curriculum helps fill the pediatric disaster preparedness education gap for medical residents.
