About

This study looks at how natural disasters, like Hurricane Ike, affect children's sleep and stress. It describes that many children have trouble sleeping after such events, which can last for over a year. Younger kids and those with early stress symptoms are more likely to have sleep problems later on. While stress predicts future sleep issues, the reverse isn't true; sleep problems don't predict future stress. The study highlights the need to address both sleep and posttraumatic stress in children after disasters to help them recover better.
