About
This article reviews how young people recover from natural disasters, focusing on Europe. It describes how climate change is causing more disasters like floods and wildfires in Europe. The study looks at 15 research papers with over 11,000 children aged 3-18 worldwide. It identifies different recovery paths: resilience, recovery, chronic issues, and delayed responses. Risk factors include being female or having less social support. A stepped care approach is suggested for treatment to help build resilience and aid recovery in affected youth through screenings and interventions like trauma-focused therapy or classroom-based programs.
