About

This study conducted a survey among pediatric emergency departments (PEDs) in the United States to assess their preparedness for COVID-19. 25 out of 35 departments responded, with most experiencing a decrease in non-COVID patients. Changes were made in staffing, triage, and training protocols including personal protective equipment (PPE) use, airway management, and cardiac arrest. Video/teleconferencing and simulation training were common. The study highlights the need for ongoing research to improve preparedness for future pandemics.
