About

This article looks at a study on improving pediatric trainees' knowledge of disaster medicine. A special course was added to a residency program, including lectures and simulations. Sixteen residents took part, and none had prior experience with disaster victims. After the course, their test scores improved by 35%, showing they learned more about handling disasters. Even two months later, their scores were still better by 23%. The course also boosted their confidence in managing patients during disasters. It suggests that this type of training could be used to create a standard curriculum for all pediatric residents in the future.
