About
This study surveyed neonatal intensive care units (NICUs) across California in 2018 to assess their level of preparedness for disasters. Most were urban and nonprofit, and many had plans for different disasters. However, not all participated in hospital training exercises: 10% never did drills, 44% did once a year, 36% twice a year, and only 10% more than twice yearly. Many NICUs have plans in place, but consistent participation in drills is lacking.
