About
This study analyzed the level of preparedness of households in disaster-prone areas. Three measures of preparedness were created using a survey: cumulative, adequate, and minimal. Results show that past exposure to disasters increased preparedness. Vulnerable households had children, disabled individuals, or were African-American headed. Assessing minimal preparedness is crucial due to evolving disaster policies.
