This review examines the impact of disasters and terrorism on children (ages 0-17) with disabilities and their families, as well as the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on their mental health. Research shows that children with disabilities have higher disaster exposure, lower preparedness, and less recovery support due to discrimination. The COVID-19 pandemic has also negatively affected children with disabilities. Future studies should focus on mitigating disaster impacts, increasing preparedness, and evaluating trauma-informed treatment to support their health and well-being.
