This study examines the natural course of posttraumatic stress and depressive reactions among untreated adolescents in earthquake-affected cities in Armenia. It also evaluates the effectiveness of brief trauma/grief-focused psychotherapy. The research assessed 125 adolescents using specific scales at 1.5 and 5 years post-earthquake, with psychotherapy provided to a group in one city. Results showed a decrease in PTSD symptoms among treated and untreated adolescents, with psychotherapy leading to greater improvement. The study highlights the importance of mental health interventions in schools post-disaster to reduce trauma-related issues.
