This study evaluated frontline facilities in Malawi (Zomba and Mchinji districts), and their readiness to implement the World Health Organization's (WHO) Emergency Triage Assessment and Treatment (ETAT) guidelines. The goal is to improve child health outcomes by ensuring that medical staff are ready and trained to use this system effectively. Findings show some facilities conduct triage and referrals, but lack sufficient training, resources, and equipment. Policies should focus on improving supply chain management, maintenance, and referral communication for successful ETAT scale-up.
