This article introduces the Child & Family Disaster Research Training & Education (DRT) program, which aims at improving the ability to research disaster mental health in children. The DRT program trains teams across the U.S., focusing on different aspects like healthcare, public health, and social work. It offers a 22-module curriculum covering clinical and research topics related to disaster mental health. The goal is to help professionals understand how data can improve disaster response services, increase collaboration among experts, and prepare them for future disasters while ensuring sustainability through ongoing training efforts.
