This article highlights the exacerbation of health inequities during the COVID-19 pandemic and the need for a health equity strategy in pediatric pandemic planning. It emphasizes addressing historical injustices, social determinants of health, and disparities in healthcare. The pandemic disproportionately affected BIPOC communities, underscoring the importance of inclusive policies and systems. Pediatricians play a crucial role in advocating for health equity, engaging communities, and integrating preventive measures.
