This updated position paper on measles encompasses the latest advancements in the field, such as the elimination of introduction criteria for the routine second dose of measles-containing vaccine (MCV2). It also provides guidance on the appropriate timing for vaccinating infants starting from 6 months of age and outlines recommendations for revaccinating HIV-infected children who are undergoing highly active antiretroviral therapy (HAART). Notably, this paper supersedes the 2009 WHO position paper on measles vaccines.
