About
This study analyzes data from the US National Mental Health Services Survey from 2017 to 2019 to investigate disparities in mental health facility availability related to suicide risk among rural vs. urban youth. The findings reveal fewer mental health facilities and suicide prevention services in rural areas compared to urban areas, highlighting the need for improved mental health care access in rural communities. The study emphasizes the importance of addressing these disparities to reduce youth suicide rates, suggesting interventions to increase awareness, reduce stigma, and enhance access to mental health services in rural areas.Tags
