    About

The Region 1 RDHRS has established a weekly educational series comprised of six sessions to provide clinical teams from nursing, providers, and respiratory therapy disciplines with information and resources that can support their work to meet the healthcare needs of patients. In this session, Michelle Greeson, a critical care transport nurse and infection control officer at the University of Vermont Health Network, shares insights into their patient transport challenges and solutions. With experience spanning over 17 years in critical care, Michelle discusses the limitations faced in transporting RSV patients and developing an interim solution using existing equipment. By adapting high-flow nasal cannulas with the Hamilton vent, they achieved effective therapy during transport, addressing oxygen consumption and patient continuity concerns. The rollout process, initiated in spring and expedited due to RSV patient influx, reflects their commitment to optimizing patient care.
