About
The Western Regional Alliance for Pediatric Emergency Medicine (WRAP-EM), funded by ASPR, studied health disparities across 11 core areas. Focus groups in April 2021 explored health literacy, disparities, resources, obstacles, and resilience. Findings emphasized readiness plans, community engagement, and diversity in training. Challenges included funding and unequal distribution of resources. Existing programs underscored the value of sharing best practices. Recommendations included enhanced mental health care, community empowerment, telemedicine, and diverse education. The results aim to guide efforts in improving pediatric disaster preparedness by addressing health disparities effectively.Tags
